Basic camera set-up:
Format the card. Set to manual: why you would choose to shoot in manual mode rather than automatic. How to use the in-camera light meter. Understanding the following settings and the technical /aesthetic result: ISO: preventing noise. Aperture: shallow or large depth of field. Shutter speed: ‘freezing’ the action or creating movement, use of a tripod. White balance: understanding colour temperature. Auto focus v manual focus. Focal length. File formats and how to choose them. Playback: highlight view, histogram. Experimenting with all of these controls to experience creating different effects. |
